YarnArt Jeans Soft Colors. Yarn review and comparison with YarnArt Jeans

YarnArt keeps increasing their "Jeans" line. Recently they presented new multicolored yarn YarnArt Jeans Soft Colors. And today I want to share my impressions of this yarn with you all!

This yarn available here: https://candy-yarn.myshopify.com/blogs/news/yarnart-jeans-soft-colors-yarn-review-and-comparison-with-yarnart-jeans?_pos=1&_sid=2e041dc89&_ss=r

Characteristics

YarnArt Jeans Soft Colors is 2-Fine (Sport) weight cotton blend, 4-ply yarn. It comes in 50 g / 1.75 oz skeins. Yarn Consists of 55% cotton and 45% acrylic. Skeins are round, yarn is soft and has velvety texture. The yarn is colored in sections. This is the only difference it has from the usual YarnArt Jeans yarn.

Soft Colors is great for both hook and needle. It doesn’t layer while working with it. The produced recommends 3.5 mm knitting needles for this yarn. My sample, that you can see below, is made with 4 mm needles. The sample turned out soft, puffy and elastic. The fabric is really stretchy and all stitches are straight. Pay attention that the size of the color lines depends on the width of your project! I think that 4 mm knitting needles will be perfect to make an oversized jumper.

How does yarn look like in ornaments?

Let’s look at the lace pattern first. I was working on 3.5 mm knitting needles. This is kind of Missoni pattern. I think that this coloring will look fabulous in such patterns.

Like any other cotton blend yarn, this one holds the band only till the project is new. Later it can stretch. If you want your band to hold longer, work pressed rubber, that will hold its shape for a while.

And what about crochet hook?

The producer recommends us to use 3.5 mm crochet hook. But the yarn is so universal, that you can use it to make clothes, amigurumi toys, blankets, accessories, etc. That’s why I made a Granny Square sample with 3.5 mm crochet. The sample came out soft, not so stretchy as the one made with needles. That’s exactly what we want for our blankets!

The next sample is made just double crochet. I was wondering how this coloring will look like in the fabric. Because with multicolored yarn you never know what you’ll get in the end. My sample came out with straight vertical lines.

Color palette

Let’s say couple of words for color palette of the yarn. This yarn is new, so there are only 14 colors presented on official website. Colors are mostly tender, with palette shades, but there are also neon touches in some color numbers. Soft Colors palette can be easily combined with any Classic Jeans colors. Now let’s take a closer look at the palette.

What to make with YarnArt Jeans Soft Colors

This yarn is the best for Spring / Fall season clothes. It could be a sweater, a jacket, jumper, etc. The yarn is strong and hypoallergenic. It could be used for baby clothing too! You can also make some great amigurumi toys and blankets with it.

How to take care of this yarn?

I recommend hand-wash in 30°С water, don’t rub it, and don’t twist. Dry horizontally on the flat surface. Use iron on low temperatures. My samples are ironed on mid temperature on the wrong side.

How much yarn you’ll need for a project?

On S-M sweater size you’ll need 8 skeins. On 1 x 1 m blanket you’ll need 10 skeins.
