Review of summer yarn YarnArt Linen Soft. Advantages and disadvantages.

Are you looking for an unusual yarn for summer crafts? I recommend paying attention to an interesting new product with a natural composition from YarnArt - Linen Soft. Today I will share my impressions of this yarn.

Skeins of 3.5 oz with a length of 297 yards. And the composition: 30% linen, 36% viscose, 34% cotton.
The skeins are neatly wound, soft and pleasant to the touch. Viscose adds a noble shine.

YarnArt Linen Soft palette

The palette includes both solid colors, sectional dyeing, and melange. By the way, the official website of the manufacturer lists 40 positions. The colors are all beautiful, ranging from light nude to dark and bright. In sectional dyeing, the manufacturer successfully combines colors that will look interesting and unique in the finished product.

Throughout the length, the thickness of the thread changes - a thin thread transitions to a thickening at equal intervals. It does not spring and consists of three threads: viscose, cotton, and linen, and the thread has a weak twist.

Despite this texture, the yarn is pleasant to knit. It knits wonderfully, easily, and comfortably. The thread slides easily on the tool. Another big plus is that the yarn is suitable for beginners because the fabric does not show uneven stitches or your mistakes. The non-uniform texture of the fabric hides all flaws. If necessary, the yarn can be easily unraveled.

Which hook or needles to choose for knitting with YarnArt Linen Soft

By the way, about the tools. The manufacturer recommends using 4 mm needles. I knitted my sample in stockinette stitch with the recommended size. It turned out soft, elastic, but not springy. The thickening is clearly visible and randomly distributed. Agree, in the finished product it will look simple and interesting.

The stockinette stitch looks equally attractive with sectional dyeing, for which I used 3.5 mm needles. It should be noted that the color stripes will vary depending on the width of the product. Due to the viscose, the fabric is delicate and pleasant to the touch.

Linen Soft has a non-uniform texture, and you don’t need to choose a pattern for it. However, I still tried and knitted lace. I did not expect such a result. I liked how the yarn looks in lace patterns. It seems to me that in this variant the viscose, which adds shine and attractiveness, is more noticeable. The relief of the pattern is also noticeable.

It holds ribbing poorly and can serve as an edge finish. I knitted mine with 3.5 mm needles. It is elastic, soft, but not very springy.

As for the hook, the manufacturer also advises choosing it in size 4 mm. I knitted this sample with this number. I must say that I didn't like it much with the hook. The sample turned out to be somewhat unattractive in my opinion. Maybe someone else will like it.

What can be knitted with Linen Soft

The composition of the yarn prompts to knit summer items - tops, light sweaters, dresses, and sundresses. Thanks to the texture of the thread, there is no need to come up with complex designs. Simple lines and stockinette stitch will look advantageous in the finished product.

How to care for items made from Linen Soft

Hand wash, water temperature 30 degrees, do not rub, do not wring, and dry flat. I ironed my samples on medium with steam.

How much YarnArt Linen Soft is needed - Consumption

A bit about consumption. For a size 48 sweater with needles, 3 skeins are enough.
