Mohair jumper YarnArt "Bellissimo". Detailed description.

Today I want to invite you to knit with me a warm, beautiful and cheerful jumper from YarnArt Bellissimo.
(This yarn available here: https://candy-yarn.myshopify.com/products/yarnart-bellissimo-fluffy-mohair-yarn-58410?_pos=1&_sid=2a76af880&_ss=r)

Skeins 150 g, meter 330 m. Composition: 13% mohair, 4% polyamide, 16% polyester, 67% acrylic. For such a jumper we will need 3 skeins of yarn (my color is No. 1413), knitting needles 5 mm with a cable of 40, 60 cm, 4 mm with a cable of 60 cm, 3.5 mm with a cable of 40 cm. We also need a measuring tape, markers, a needle , scissors or wire cutters.

To determine the knitting density, you need to knit a sample and give it a WTO. After that, we just calculate the knitting density. My density is 1.63 p and 2.25 p per 1 cm.

Measurements

Chest circumference (Og) - 98 cm + 12 cm looseness of fit = 110 cm

Product length - 58 cm (from the base of the neck)

I knitted from 2 skeins at once so that the stripes were wider. One row from one skein, another row from another. And we alternate.

We calculate according to the exhaust gas - 110 x 1.63 = 179.3 p. Round up to 180 p.

I added an elastic band at the bottom of the product so that it would not tighten the fabric.

Added 30 loops. On 4 mm knitting needles with a 60 cm cable, we cast on 21 loops + 1 loop for closing in a circle in the usual way. We knit a 1x1 elastic band to a height of 5 cm. We switch to 5 mm knitting needles and knit the stockinette stitch. At the same time, in the first row we knit the 6th and 7th loops together. To determine the side seams, we knit 2 purl loops along them. From the beginning of the row, purl 1, knit 88, purl 2, knit 88, purl 1. Place a marker at the beginning of the row. After this, we knit to a height of 36 cm from the cast-on edge of the elastic - 70 rows of stockinette stitch. After this, we divide the canvas into 2 parts - the front and the back. We knit the back from one skein, and the front from the other. We transfer the 2 purl side loops to the marker, and add 1 loop from each edge, these are the edge loops. The height of the armhole is 19 cm. In terms of density, it is 42 rows high until the shoulders are closed. At the same time, in every 6th row we add 1 loop from each edge to expand the fabric. I added with a twisted yarn over.

This is done so that in the end there are no large folds under the arms. Having knitted 42 rows on knitting needles, 102 loops. We put 30 loops (18 cm) on the back neck in the center, leaving 36 loops on the shoulders. We close the shoulders with 6 loops on each side. On the third closure we begin to knit the back neckline, which is 6 rows.

After that we move on to the front. We knit 36 rows, making increases along the edge in every 6th row. On the 37th row we begin to knit the front neckline.

First we close the central 10 loops, then in every second row: 2 times 3 loops. 1 time 2 loops, 2 times 1 loop. Then we knit without decreasing. At the same time, do not forget that the armhole has 42 rows and you need to close it with 6 loops in every 2nd row. I did not close the loops, but knitted them in short rows, leaving 6 loops unknitted each time. When turning, I used the German method (at the end of the article there will be links to video tutorials).

After that, I knitted 1 row along the shoulder loops. We do not cut the thread, we will use it to connect the shoulders. Crocheted with a braid. We put the front loops on top of the closed back loops and made a connecting post in each loop. We do not cut the thread from the last shoulder, we use it to cast on loops along the neckline using 3.5 mm knitting needles with a 40 cm cable, in each loop. The number of loops should be divided by 2. After this, we continue to knit the neck elastic to the desired height. Mine is 5 cm.

Let's start with the sleeves. We transfer 2 purl loops to 5 mm knitting needles with a 40 cm cable. We cast on 28 loops along the armhole, 1 loop along the shoulder seam, and 28 loops on the other side of the armhole. We knit 2 purl stitches together and make 1 loop out of it. There are 58 loops on the needles. Now you can put on the jumper and measure the sleeve length, i.e. how many centimeters do we need to knit from the armhole to the bottom? My measurement is 44 cm. From this length we subtract the width of the cuff 6 cm. Multiply the remaining number by the density in height. 38 x 2.25 = 86 rows.

In every 9th row I decrease 2 stitches to bevel the sleeves. A total of 9 decreases of 2 loops each = 18 loops need to be decreased. There are 40 stitches left on the needles in front of the cuff. We switch to 3.5 mm knitting needles (I used sock knitting needles) and knit 15-16 rows of cuffs. When closing the elastic bands of the neck and sleeves, I used the elastic method with yarn overs (link under the article). We give the finished jumper an OBE.
