mohair knitting patterns – Lacy Simple Designs

Mohair sweaters never go out of style! They’re always on-trend and timeless. In fact, many knitters call them “spiderweb sweaters” because of their light, airy look, and they are often knit in plain stockinette stitch.

These symbols apply to all knitting charts.

But mohair also looks stunning with decorative stitch patterns. If you’re a beginner and want to try knitting a pattern with mohair, it’s best to first practice with a smooth, non-fuzzy yarn — mohair is very difficult to unravel once knitted.

I’ve put together a collection of stitch patterns perfect for mohair yarn.

The repeat for this pattern is 12 stitches + 1 stitch for symmetry and 16 rows high. The design is simple but creates a soft, beautiful texture. The instructions here are given for knitting in the round. If you’re knitting flat (back and forth), work all even-numbered rows in purl stitches.

And this sweater is knitted in the “Grape Vine” stitch pattern.
